For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Summary:
I suspect that God did not reveal His form specifically because it lends itself to a more faith-driven perspective AND makes it that much harder to profile him in a way that would draw attention to His form instead of His gift, His grace, His sacrifice, and His love.
