A Multitude of Counselors

I Proverbs 11:14 speaks on how important it is to have counsel - and to seek it out. So much so that there are attributes associated with a multitude of counselors.
Proverbs 11:14 "... with a multitude of counselors there is safety."
Proverbs 15:22 "in the multitude of counselors they [purposes, goals, plans] are established."
Proverbs 24:6 "... in a multitude of counselors there is victory."
Hebrews 10:24 implies this multitude when it mentions "considering one another to provoke unto love and to good works"

I grant that the Hebrews reference isn't a direct application ... but it certainly falls into the same category. We should seek out counselors, both for the safety, victory, and success that will result, but also so that we'll provoke one another "unto love and to good works." Or as a favored bumper sticker says, we should engage in "arbitrary acts of kindness".

Today is special, in a worldly way, as being the "The only day between 1993 and 2002 when nobody in the United Kingdom killed themselves". From this morbid point of view, let today be signal, in that all believers make it a special point TO kill themselves, to die unto themselves in a unique and poignant way - and to be doubly blessed by God, because the motivation isn't to reap the rewards, but to honor God!
